Have you ever found yourself wondering why…why something worked out the way it did, or maybe why it didn’t? They say hindsight is 20/20 and while there is wisdom in that sentiment, sometimes making sense of the story of your life isn’t that straightforward. For me, solace has always been found in the stars. Looking back on my life, especially during the most emotionally charged times, I remember looking up to the night sky. For reassurance, maybe, or hope. Maybe it was just the feeling that life was bigger than me, bigger than all of us, and that whatever I was feeling at the time was part of a bigger plan.
When my best friend died unexpectedly at the age of 41, I found myself unhinged and untethered, completely lost. For days and days, weeks and weeks, I walked my neighborhood alone at night constantly looking up at the cosmos, constantly asking why. While I can’t say looking at my personal astrological chart solved everything, it did give me what I needed.
A start, a clue, a path to my own becoming. A crumb to show me the way out, the next step to take. Understanding my chart guided me through by helping me figure out how to confront my grief (Mars), communicate my grief (Mercury), and deeply feel my grief (Moon). It also helped me see the bigger picture of my journey here on Earth by allowing me to understand my karmic wounds (Chiron), restrictions to my growth (Saturn), and opportunities for my own personal transformation and abundance (Pluto and Jupiter). Your chart can do the same for you, no matter where you find yourself.
I started A Rare Occurrence with the goal of making this universal guidance available to all who seek it, for it is here to support you (indeed, to support all of us) through all of life’s moments. No matter the occurrence, your astrological chart holds the keys to help you move through your journey with more ease. I would be honored to curate and read your astrological chart, and to be given the opportunity to provide you with a tool to start unfolding your occurrence, no matter where you are. What information do I need to provide for a chart reading?
All we need is your name (whatever you prefer to be called, real or imagined), date and time of birth, and location. Your time of birth determines your rising/ascendent sign, so if you don’t know it, that’s ok! Your chart will contain everything else and will still provide meaningful insights.

How will I receive my chart and how long will it take?
You will receive your chart in PDF format, sent to the email provided on the My Occurrence form. An example report can be found here​. Each report is personally curated by Marissa.

Can I order a chart for someone else?
Absolutely. We would be honored to curate a chart for anyone special in your life. Please complete the My Occurrence form with the recipient’s information and check the box indicating the chart is a gift. We will need email addresses from both you and the recipient. The report will be delivered directly to your person’s email address on a day of your choosing and you will receive confirmation.
Are gift cards available?
